Blaine Lewis is a trial lawyer who concentrates his practice in the areas of trucking litigation, FELA and railroad litigation, product liability, professional liability and general tort litigation. He has over 20 years experience defending Fortune 500 companies in catastrophic injury cases and has tried many cases to verdict.
Mr. Lewis represents several of the largest trucking companies in the industry in a wide-variety of matters, ranging from simple slip-and falls to matters involving catastrophic injury. Mr. Lewis and his team of attorneys and industry experts are capable of emergency response in situations where circumstances require immediate investigation and gathering of evidence. In addition, he regularly works with leading industry experts and is well-versed in the latest industry technology, as well as the latest litigation strategies and trial tactics employed by the plaintiff’s bar.
In addition to his trucking practice, Mr. Lewis also has over fifteen years experience defending railroads in FELA and crossing accident litigation, during which time he has obtained several defense verdicts.
Mr. Lewis has also worked for some of the world’s largest insurers in defending a wide-variety of matters, including cases involving catastrophic injury from industrial and heavy equipment, fire and explosions, product liability and toxic tort. He has also handled claims involving falls, confined space and electrical contact. He has significant experience addressing complex damages claims, including traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injuries, amputation and other damages claims involving complex medical evidence, life care plans and vocational rehabilitation issues.
Mr. Lewis has defended several professional liability cases involving claims against architects and geotechnical engineers. He has defended insurers against claims of bad-faith and has also handled negligent security claims for hospitals and other entities. Prior to joining Middleton Reutlinger, Mr. Lewis was co-chair of the transportation law subcommittee of the tort litigation group of an AMLAW 200 law firm.
