Overview
John Purcell is a registered patent attorney and a member of the law firm's intellectual property practice group. John primarily focuses his practice on patent prosecution.
While obtaining his bachelor's of science in electrical engineering, John programmed and implemented control systems for a variety of industrial applications, including conveyor belt systems for airports across the country, waste water treatment systems for Louisville’s Metropolitan Sewer District, and power plant monitoring systems for Louisville Gas & Electric. While obtaining his masters of engineering in electrical engineering, his coursework focused on image processing, pattern recognition, robotics, and machine learning.
During law school, John clerked for our intellectual property practice group. He joined the law firm as an associate attorney upon graduation.
